July 15th, 2020 | Beth Rogers

On Tuesday afternoon at about 5:20 p.m., the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a tractor accident that sent a 64 year old Norfolk man to the hospital. The accident occurred when a southbound John Deere tractor, driven by Brian Brovont on 566th Avenue about ¼ mile North of the Hwy 275/57 junction (Spurville) left the county road and entered the west ditch rolling down a steep embankment landing on its side. Brovont was extricated from the wreckage and flown directly from the scene by Life Net medical helicopter to a Sioux City, IA hospital. Restraints were not in use and the tractor suffered severe damage. Stanton Fire and Rescue and Stanton County Emergency Management also responded to the scene. Hwy 275 was closed to traffic for about 20 minutes as the helicopter landed in the middle of the highway.
