Forklift safety training course coming to Northeast Community College

NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College in Norfolk will offer a forklift safety training course in August.

Forklift Safety Train the Trainer (SAFT 5103/20F & CRN #60040) meets Tuesday, August 4, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., in the Applied Technology Building, Room 117 on the Norfolk campus.

This program allows on-site trainers to meet requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for formal instruction, training and evaluation of forklift operators. It is designed for safety managers, warehouse managers, construction site managers, supervisors and team leaders.

One hour of hands-on training is included. Topics to be covered include relevant OSHA standards and compliance, best practices, training and evaluation techniques, and how to educate non-operators about workplace safety around forklifts.

Participants will receive a training kit with everything that is needed to conduct forklift instruction: easy to follow facilitator guide/Companion DVD (plus PC/Mac CD-ROM version)/administrative guidelines/reproducible tests and forms.

Cost of the class, which is taught by a Nebraska Safety Council representative, is $525.
