Flood Warnings Continue Along The Missouri River

Flooding has  forced road closures along I-29 this morning  in Pottawattamie County. The road was reported closed from the Crescent exit to the I-29/I-680  Interchange in  Loveland.

 

 

Rainfall from yesterday’s storms dropped  around 2 to 3  inches in the Valley area.  At least four inches were reported in  Pender, Bennington and Elkhorn.  Pilger reported over four inches as well. Omaha’s Eppley Airfield had 2.7 inches of rain.

Do not drive cars through areas where water covers the road. The
water depth may be too great to allow your vehicle to pass safely.
Turn around…don`t drown!

The Flood Warning continues for
The Missouri River Near Blair.
* At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 29.0 feet…or 2.5 feet above
flood stage.
* Flood stage is 26.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…The river will continue rising to near 29.1 feet
early Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage early
Saturday afternoon.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Missouri River At Omaha.
* At 8:30 PM Thursday the stage was 30.0 feet…or 1.0 feet above
flood stage.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…The river will continue rising to near 30.6 feet by
early Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage early
Wednesday morning.
