Cuming County Fair Underway

August 13th, 2020 | Beth Rogers

The “2020 Cuming County Fair” is officially underway in West Point, despite the unusual circumstances surrounding coronavirus.

Thursday around 10am, many exhibitors were still setting up and finalizing preparations for the annual summer event.

Friends greeted each other as they walked the fairgrounds on a humid, breezy morning with a forecast high of 87.

Everything appeared to be normal as in years past, except for occasionally seeing a few fair attendees wearing masks.

With some aspects of the fair being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains to be seen what impact it might have on attendance.

Thursday night at 7:30, the “Mid-America Truck and Tractor Pullers” will be one of the main attractions of the Cuming County Fair.

KTICs booth is again in Building 12, and you can hear reports from the fair on AM 840 KTIC and 107.9 FM “The Bull,” all four days.
