YORK- York’s City Council has approved the budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. There are a few improvements in which they plan to spend money on, but some improvements have been pushed unless necessary.
The budget does hold a .06 tax levy increase which moves it from .27 to .33, which is lower than the .45 cap on municipalities. The budget did include a 3% rate increase for water, based on findings in a recent study and projections. With months worth of conversation, the budget hearing went smoothly and when it came time to vote, there wasn’t anything shocking.
