Foul Play not suspected in death of missing Sioux County man

Authorities say foul play is not suspected in the death of a Sioux County man whose disappearance earlier this week  prompted a multiple-day search north of Henry.

Bruce Howell was reported missing Tuesday evening, and search efforts began after his unoccupied vehicle was found halfway down an embankment off of Henry Road near Sheep Creek about four miles north of Henry.

In a release issued Thursday morning, Sioux County Sheriff Chad McCumbers said Howell was found by the crew of a Nebraska State Patrol helicopter around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

McCumbers thanked the Nebraska State Patrol, members of the Scottsbluff, Gering, Mitchell and Morrill Fire Departments, and Goshen County Search and Rescue working with K-9 units for their assistance  during searches Tuesday night and the following  morning.
