(AUDIO) Water Treatment Plant Improvement Project Update Given, Fireworks discharge hours set at West Point City Council Meeting

The West Point City Council was updated on the Water Treatment Plant Improvement Project at Thursday night’s Meeting. City Administrator Tom Goulette says the bid process is expected to be finished by the middle of the month.

Goulette says that’s all part of a special meeting the City will hold on the 17th at 5:00 p.m.

Time limits have been set on the discharge and shooting of fireworks in the City of West Point.

Goulette said.

The end times were set due to numerous complaints the Police Department received from citizens.

Goulette says there was previously no stop time for fireworks discharge in the City.

Goulette adds the City is looking at doing House Demos.

The council also approved about $1.25 million for a grant for levee improvements as part of a Nebraska Water Sustainability Fund Grant Award Agreement with the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources at the meeting.
