(AUDIO) Schlecht discusses impact of Coronavirus on West Point

March 30th, 2020 | Beth Rogers

The 2020 Coronavirus Outbreak has had a negative impact on West Point businesses. Thats according to Mayor Bruce Schlecht, who encourages the community to continue to support them.

All restaurants in town are either take out, delivery, or drive thru only per an executive order issued by Gov. Pete Ricketts earlier this month.

Cruise Night Events have been held the last two Sunday evenings on Main Street in West Point. Schlecht says Cruise Night is great, but people still need to remember to be safe.

Schlecht says children also need to be properly restrained when it comes to Cruise Night.

He adds there was also a bear hunt in town last week where people placed bears in their windows for kids to look for, and one person and her daughter found over 200 bears.

Schlecht also says he doesnt think there will be any spring baseball this year, and everyone should stay home and be safe as we will all get through this together.
