(AUDIO) Phyllis Cleveland, Clerk Magistrate of the Stanton County Court to Retire May 31

Stanton County Court Clerk Magistrate Phyllis Cleveland submitted her notice of retirement effective May 31, 2020, after over 47 years of service to the Judicial Branch.

Cleveland says she spent the majority of her career in Stanton County.

“The duties and responsibilities of county court clerk magistrate have grown and changed over the years, and Phyllis has embraced the challenges with dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm, said Trial Court Services Director Sheryl Connolly.  “She provides customer service with patience and understanding, and has been a tremendous support for the judges and courts in the 7th district.”

Cleveland shares a favorite memory of hers.

Cleveland says shell miss the people she came to know the most, the attorneys she worked with, and colleagues she had.

Cleveland adds this coronavirus pandemic has thrown a fork into her immediate retirement plans.

Cleveland says her time serving in the Judicial Branch is a time in her life she will always cherish.

Immediately prior to the retirement of Cleveland, a Clerk Magistrate or Interim Clerk Magistrate will be designated for the court.
