Eight employees from Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender tested positive for COVID-19 on July 8th and 9th, but were later re-tested twice for which the results came back negative. Administrator Shari Dorsey says there was widespread concern when the initial news broke.
Dorsey says the facility went into an active infection protocol, which required residents to stay isolated in their rooms.
Dorsey says the first tests were conducted by the state and the second round of testing by their own channels.
Dorsey says a total of 74 employees were tested by the state.
