This week is National Police Week in the State of Nebraska. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says he and his office are very appreciative of the recognition.

Unger says people have been very generous to his agency over the last month, especially with the Coronavirus issues.

Unger attributes the recognition to law enforcement always being there for the public.

Unger says sometimes that includes sacrificing their time and the ultimate sacrifice cause over 100 police officers are lost to tragic deaths per year.
