Geared for Life, a Suicide Prevention Poker Run, will be held next Saturday in Norfolk. Northeast Nebraska Suicide Prevention Coalition President Donna Wolff has the details.
Music will be provided by Nita and the Pipe Smoking Charlies starting at 9:00 p.m.
Wolff says food will be provided at one of the stops along the way, and the meal afterwards will be free will donation.
She adds they will be doing split the pot, and there will be drawings and door prizes as well.
Wolff says its important for people to get out and participate in something like this given the times.
Wolff says its very important for people to talk with one another on a daily basis and check in with loved ones, including the elderly.
Wolff shares the signs of someone who might be suicidal.
Wolff says she lost her own son to suicide on March 1st of 2009.
She adds people can still donate even if they cannot attend.
Wolff says there will be a list of resources as well as hotline and texting numbers available at next Saturdays event.
