(AUDIO) Coronavirus update provided, budget adopted at WP-B School Board Meeting

The West Point-Beemer School Board met for their regular monthly meeting Monday night. Superintendent Bill McAllister has the latest coronavirus information for the school district.

McAllister says 192 total people have missed school due to COVID-19, including 83 due to contacts, 64 cause of symptoms, and 7 positive tests.

4 students, 1 teacher, and 2 paras have tested positive, according to McAllister.

McAllister adds the district has seen a dramatic increase in the number of absences from last year to this year.

McAllister says an average of 58 students have been gone per day this year compared to 31 per day last year.

Also at Monday nights meeting, the Board adopted the proposed budget.

McAllister said.

McAllister says the total budget is $17,326,960.

The Board also approved the 2020-2021 Total Tax Request at the meeting. Treasurer Steve Blocher made the motion.

As far as P2T Information goes, there will be a Budget Hearing at Tuesday nights meeting in Fremont.
