12th Avenue Viaduct Ribbon-Cutting in Columbus

September 24, 2020 (Norfolk, Neb.) — On Friday, the City of Columbus, along with project sponsors, will host a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the 12th Avenue Viaduct in Columbus, Nebraska. The event is scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. near the southwest corner of 15th street and 12th Avenue in Columbus.

Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) Director Kyle Schneweis, congratulates the Columbus Community on their hard work and partnership in support of this important project saying, “the collaboration that took place resulted in the achievement of completing this project, and Columbus is one step closer to eliminating at-grade crossings in the area providing a safer transportation system for the community.” Jodi Gibson, Local Assistance Division Manager for NDOT, also applauded the teamwork that took place saying, “I’m proud of the continued coordination with the Local Public Agencies to deliver a project with such positive impact on the community in a timely and efficient manner.” The 12th Avenue Viaduct project provides a new viaduct including a pedestrian walkway for the community.
