Boom Sprayer Caught in Transmission Lines Causes Outage from Lisco to Lewellen Wednesday

Nebraska Public Power District officials say it took about an hour to restore service to  approximately 1,000 customers in Garden County along Highway 26 impacted by a power outage Wednesday morning.

NPPD Media Services Supervisor Mark Becker says the outage hit around 10 a.m. Mountain time, with service lost in an area stretching from Lisco to Lewellen according to the NPPD online outage map.

Becker tells KNEB News a repair crew found the booms of a sprayer rig came in contact with overhead wires, causing  a fault on a transmission line in the Big Springs area and he subsequent outage in Garden County.
