A Nebraska State Patrol Trooper arrested a 17 year old Lincoln juvenile in a stolen vehicle on a county road south of North Platte following a tip from the public. The vehicle, a black Ford Mustang, was reported stolen from an auto dealership in Lincoln, Nebraska. State Patrol Trooper Shannon Koubek says a pursuit of the vehicle on Highway 83 began south of North Platte shortly after midnight on Tuesday by another trooper and other law enforcement, but contact was lost. The fleeing vehicle was able to elude authorities at speeds that reached 154 mph. At 6:30 a.m., a third party spotted a black Ford Mustang stuck in a road ditch on Lone Star Road, located approximately 15 miles south of North Platte. Trooper Koubek says the juvenile, who was in the car, was taken into custody on multiple charges including: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Criminal Mischief for damage to the car, Flight to Avoid Arrest and other offenses racked-up during the Lincoln County pursuit.
The juvenile also eluded law enforcement in the Hastings area Monday evening during a pursuit.
