Boldt named Freshman of the Week in the Big Ten

Jackson Glines of Michigan, Ryan Riga of Ohio State and Nebraska's Ryan Boldt have been named the baseball players of the week in the Big Ten Conference.

Glines, a junior outfielder for the Wolverines, is the player of the week. Riga, a junior lefthander for the Buckeyes was the pitcher of the week and Boldt, an outfielder for the Huskers, was named the freshman of the week.

The Red Wing, MN native finished the weekend with six runs and six hits, both team highs, in helping the Huskers to a three-game sweep over St. John's.

Boldt atted .600 for the week and recorded multiple hits in the first two games of the series, including a 3-for-4 effort in the series opener. He also scored two runs in the second game and finished with three runs and a triple in the finale to help Nebraska to the sweep

The last Nebraska Big Ten Freshman of the Week was Pat Kelly in May of 2012. Kelly is a cousin of Boldt's.
