WSC’s Norling named NSIC Player of the Week

WSC’s Norling named NSIC Player of the Week

Erin Norling of Wayne State College was named the Northern Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week announced by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota Tuesday afternoon following her performance in two Wildcat home wins to open the season.

Norling, a 5-11 sophomore forward from Loretto, Minnesota, averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per contest helping Wayne State record wins over Northwest Missouri State (75-58) and Nebraska-Kearney (69-52).

Norling poured in a career-high 21 points on 10 of 20 shooting in Friday’s 75-58 victory over Northwest Missouri State and added nine points, nine rebounds and two blocks in Saturday’s 69-52 win over Nebraska-Kearney.

Wayne State, 2-0 on the season, plays Truman State of Missouri and Quincy (Ill.) Friday and Saturday at the Subway Classic in Quincy, Illinois.
