Wayne State faces a tough NSIC South Division road trip this weekend as the Wildcat men visit Sioux Falls Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Southwest Minnesota State Saturday at 6 p.m. The Wildcats are 10-2 on the season and one of three teams tied atop the NSIC South Division with a 5-1 league mark. Both USF and SMSU start the weekend at 8-4 overall and 3-3 in league play. Last season, WSC swept Sioux Falls with a 78-64 win in Wayne and 78-66 victory in Sioux Falls. SMSU has won 14 of the last 15 matchups vs. WSC, including a 75-60 win in Wayne and 86-65 home victory last season over the Wildcats.
The Wayne State College women’s basketball team hits the road this weekend for NSIC South Division games at Sioux Falls Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. and Southwest Minnesota State Saturday in a 4 p.m. contest. The Wildcats and Cougars enter Friday’s contest with identical records of 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC while SMSU starts the weekend at 5-6 and 2-4 in league play. Last season, WSC swept USF winning 64-51 in Wayne and 74-65 in Sioux Falls while the Wildcats have won 18 straight meetings against the Mustangs that include a 78-55 home win last season and a 76-60 road victory over the Mustangs.
