Point Lookout, Mo – The York College Panthers were able to come home with one win after four games played at College of the Ozarks. After dropping a tough three-game match to Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Panthers turned around and swept St. Louis Pharmacy in straight sets.

In the first match against Oklahoma Wesleyan the Panhters were better statistically hitting the ball than the Eagles, but it was mistakes in serving and receiving that decided the game. York hit .200 as a team compiling a total of 37 kills, as the Eagles hit .150 with 36 kills. However, the Panthers handed the Eagles 21 free points after 11 service errors, and 10 reception errors.

Shiloh Lively (FR/Las Vegas, Nev) led York with nine kills on .280 hitting percentage. Molly Little (JR/Billings, Mont) was right behind with eight kills. Kayli Riesgo(JR/Tuscan, Ariz) led the team with 30 assists and two blocks.

Deborah Kurtzer (SR/Haxtun, Colo) added 13 digs with Natalie Carrasco(SR/Moreno Valley, Cali) right behind with 12.

In the final match of the weekend York turned things around and pounded out 48 kills with a .339 hitting percentage. Both Lively and Little had 13 kills to lead the Panthers. Riesgo had a season high 42 assists. Three Panthers were in double digits in digs with Kurtzer leading the way with 18. Carrasco added 13, while Katie Bell (SR/Hastings, Neb) ended with 12.

York will host a strong Ottawa University in a KCAC Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
