The award marks his first-career honor and he shares the recognition with Western Illinois’ Javin Drake.
The right-hander tossed a career-best 13 strikeouts through 6.0 innings pitched in the 2-0 series-opening win against Santa Clara. Omaha went on to sweep the four-game set over the weekend.
Machado improved to 2-1 on the season, with both of his wins being shutouts thus far. He also allowed just one walk and three hits in the victory.
The Omaha native is the second Maverick to earn the award this season, as Payton Kinney won the weekly recognition Feb. 25.
