NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College volleyball team swept Iowa Lakes Community College here Wednesday night, 25-12, 25-14 and 25-22.
“Tonight we came out strong and played well the first two sets,” said Northeast Coach Amanda Schultze. “During the last set we mixed up our lineup and made a lot of errors, but we were able to overcome that and finish the game.”
Kelsey Shoemaker and Tabitha Kander led the Hawks in kills with 13 and 12, respectively. Both Shoemaker and Kander had three ace serves each, and Courtni Kunz put up one solo and two assist blocks.
Mackenzie Wecker led digs with 14, and Jordan Vogt recorded 18 assists. Courtney Labenz finished with 12 digs and 15 assists.
Volleyball action continues for Northeast (14-3) on Thursday, when they host Iowa Western Community College at the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. Game time is 7 p.m.
