CHANUTE, Kan. – The Northeast Community College baseball team hit the road on Monday, competing in non-conference action in Chanute, Kan

Lefty Andrew Shaw (Dillon, Colo.) was saddled with the loss, tossing five innings, allowing five earned runs off seven hits, while striking out three and walking a batter.

The Hawks were able to rally back in the final game of the day, after falling behind 7-1 heading into the sixth inning.

Tanner Hunt (Elkhorn, Neb.) got the bats going for Northeast, smashing a double to center field, scoring Drew Smith (Elkhorn, Neb.). Jayden Sinju (Murray, Utah) roped a double to right field to plate three runs for the Hawks. Northeast wasn’t finished as sophomore Donovan Warren (Omaha, Neb.) singled to score Sinju.
