Head coach Jim Sykes‘ Mustangs, making their second successive and seventh overall NAIA Division II national tournament appearance as one of four top seeds, are number one in the Cramer Bracket. Mside, sporting a 27-3 record as the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season champions, takes on eighth-seeded Mayville State University Thursday, March 7, at 5:45 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Morningside’s men were ranked No. 4 on the final top 25 poll, earning 289 voting points which were the same number as third-ranked West Virginia Tech.
Head coach Jamie Sale‘s women’s program, advancing to a 17th straight NAIA DII national tournament appearance, is the sixth seed in the Liston bracket. The Mustangs, sitting 19-12, face third-seeded University of Antelope Valley of California at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City. Morningside was ranked No. 19 on the final Division II poll of 2018-19, marking their 179th straight appearance on the listing.
