KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2019 Softball All-America teams, selected by the NAIA All-America committee. Midland University’s Jaylee Hinrichs and Katlin Anders were both named to the Second Team.
Senior catcher Jaci Smith of Oklahoma City was named the NAIA Player of the Year and senior Olivia Brees of Baker (Kan.) is honored as the NAIA Pitcher of the Year. The All-America teams are comprised of First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention selections.
Hinrichs, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, excelled in the circle for the Warriors going 22-8 on the year with a 1.37 earned run average. She had an average of .518 and a slugging percentage of .912. Both marks ranked in the Top 10 nationally.
“Both Katlin and Jaylee had outstanding seasons,” commented head coach Mike Heard. “These honors were well earned throughout the season. We are very happy for both of them and proud of the work they put into our program.”
