OMAHA, Neb. – No. 1 Midland University volleyball improved to 16-0 on Wednesday night with a straight-set victory over College of Saint Mary. Priscilla O’Dowd paced the offense with 15 kills.

“This was another good conference road win,” said head coach Paul Giesselmann. “We had a couple of stretches where we let down, but overall it was a solid match. Our passing was very good and Jessica Peters did a good job getting our hitters in one-on-one situations.”

Midland won by set scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-20.

The Lady Warriors never trailed in the first or second set and only trail 1-0 to open the third game. Service aces by Peters and Haelee Kowalski sealed the first two set wins, respectively, and a kill by Krystina Koepke secured the sweep.

Koepke led the team with four block assists to go along with six kills. KC Heimannfinished the night with 12 kills, nine digs and a block assist.Shelby Bretschneider floored seven kills for Midland.

Midland entered the match ranked fourth in the NAIA with a .285 team hitting percentage and recorded a .310 clip on Wednesday night.

Peters set the Warrior attackers with 38 assists and added eight digs.

Midland (6-0 GPAC) remains just one of two undefeated teams in the NAIA after the sweep. CSM falls to 6-7 (2-5 GPAC) with the loss.

The Warriors return home to the Wikert Event Center on Saturday to take on (RV) Morningside College. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Fremont, Nebraska.
