OMAHA, Neb. – No. 1 Midland University volleyball improved to 16-0 on Wednesday night with a straight-set victory over College of Saint Mary. Priscilla O’Dowd paced the offense with 15 kills.
“This was another good conference road win,” said head coach Paul Giesselmann. “We had a couple of stretches where we let down, but overall it was a solid match. Our passing was very good and Jessica Peters did a good job getting our hitters in one-on-one situations.”
Midland won by set scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-20.
The Lady Warriors never trailed in the first or second set and only trail 1-0 to open the third game. Service aces by Peters and Haelee Kowalski sealed the first two set wins, respectively, and a kill by Krystina Koepke secured the sweep.
Midland entered the match ranked fourth in the NAIA with a .285 team hitting percentage and recorded a .310 clip on Wednesday night.
Peters set the Warrior attackers with 38 assists and added eight digs.
Midland (6-0 GPAC) remains just one of two undefeated teams in the NAIA after the sweep. CSM falls to 6-7 (2-5 GPAC) with the loss.
The Warriors return home to the Wikert Event Center on Saturday to take on (RV) Morningside College. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Fremont, Nebraska.
