Louisville/Weeping Water, Yutan & Albion advance in Day 1 in C-3

Louisville/Weeping Water, Yutan & Albion advance in Day 1 in C-3

Louisville/Weeping Water, Yutan & Albion were victorious in their respective games in Day 1 of the C-3 Area Seniors Tournament at Tekamah on Friday.

Louisville/Weeping Water 11, Hooper/Scribner 1 (6 innings)

Louisville/Weeping Water kicked things off with an 11-1 win in six games over Hooper/Scribner.

Treyton Savage pitched the win in relief, striking out four while allowing only two hits. Alex Hagerbaumer took the loss, going three innings while allowing three runs on two hits.

The Louisville/Weeping Water Seniors’ offense was led by Baylor Meisinger who hit safely twice.  Spencer Warner cracked a 2RBI-single while Brayden Hlavac rapped an RBI-2B.

Hooper/Scribner got a hit apiece from Jayden Korman & Austin Peters.

Yutan 4, Morse Bluff/North Bend 1

In perhaps the upset of the day, #7-seeded Yutan scored four runs in the top of the inning and held on to defeat #2-seeded Morse Bluff/North Bend 4-1.

Will Hays pitched the win, going 3.2 innings while allowing one run on two hits while striking out three.  Dawson Poessnecker took the loss for MB/NB, going four full innings while allowing four runs on three hits.

Hays, Zach Banks & Scott Wuster had a hit apiece to lead the Yutan Seniors’ offense while Colton Mitties drilled an RBI-single and Cole Johnson singled.  Poessnecker scored the lone run for MB/NB.

Albion 16, Tekamah-Herman 8

Despite giving up six runs early in the game, Albion rallied for a 16-8 win over Tekamah-Herman. Carter Henry pitched the win in relief, going six innings while allowing just two runs on two hits.  Drew Schmidt took the loss in relief for Tekamah-Herman, allowing three runs on two hits.

Albion’s offense was led by Dylan Gentrup with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI’s.  Jessie Sullivan cracked a pair of singles and Carsten Bird cracked a 2RBI-single.  Carter Henry, Ryan Kramer, Matt Schmitz & Weston Choat each scored three runs apiece for Albion.

Tekamah-Herman was led by Max Hansen & Johnny Braniff with two hits apiece.  Hansen & Braniff also had two RBI’s. Hansen & Brandon Schram scored two runs apiece.
