Lexington Comes Up Short To Northwest

Grand Island Northwest held off Lexington in girls soccer action on Monday winning 3-2 in a match that was decided by a shoot out. Each team scored a goal in each half. Lexington’s goals were scored by Annie Garcia who was assisted by Katia Garcia and Kathy Flores. Senior goal keeper Montse Manzo recorded 10 stops for Lexington. Overall head coach Keith Allen saw some postive things in this one. “Scoring two goals against both Hastings and GINW in back to back games was something we’ve struggled to do, so that was a positive. I was really happy with sophomore Nayely Quinonez who played the central part of the attacking mid, and handled the space well, after Senior Catherine Arias went down with an ankle injury.” Lexington is now 2-8 on the season and plays at Kearney Catholic today.
