HOWELLS – In high school basketball heard on 107.9 The Bull Thursday night, Dec. 7, Howells-Dodge hosted Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family in a girls and boys varsity doubleheader. Humphrey-LHF’s Brittney Veik hit a short jump shot as time expired to give the Bulldogs a 37-36 win. Macey Kulhanek led the Jaguars with 12 points including a pair of three pointers.
In the boys game, Howells-Dodge trailed 6-5 early, but then went on a scoring run that saw them close out the first half with a 29-12 lead at the intermission, on their way to a 68-39 win. Connor Blum scored 15 points for the Jaguars with Luke Rocheford adding 10. Blum was the S&W Welding Player of the Game and Rocheford received the Sportsmanship Award. Ashton Dohman was the Player of the Game for Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family, leading the Bulldogs with 16 points.
