SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Zach Jackson was named Summit League Co-Player of the Week for his performances the week of Feb. 11-17, the league office announced Monday.
The award is his second of the season and third of his career. Jackson shares this week’s honor with South Dakota State’s David Jenkins.
The senior from Wichita, Kan., averaged team bests of 22.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last week, helping Omaha to a 2-0 week as it defeated league leader South Dakota State and third-place Purdue Fort Wayne at Baxter Arena.
In Thursday’s 85-84 victory over SDSU, Jackson finished with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. A 74-71 win over the Mastodons on Saturday gave him his first double-double of the season with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Jackson finished 10-of-18 from the floor and erupted for 24 points and six rebounds in the second half alone.
Jackson now ranks sixth in school history for career scoring with 1,458 points. He also passed the 500 career rebounds mark on Saturday, becoming the 12th player in program history with at least 1,000 points and 500 boards.
