Arapahoe-Sophomore Gentry Anderson’s big start to his season continued on Friday night as he accounted for seven touchdowns to lead the Warriors past SEM 56-34. Anderson helped lead a comeback in the second quarter after SEM led early 14-6. Arapahoe outscored SEM 28-6 in that quarter to push the lead to 42-20 at half and cruised on in for the win. The Warriors also used back to back successful onside kicks in that quarter to keep the momentum on their side.
For the night, Anderson rushed 25 times for 230 yards, he also had touchdown passes of 19 yards to Yordi Guiterrez, 47 yards to Noah Koller and 15 yards to Spencer Watson. On the ground, he had four touchdown runs including a 45 yarder and a 63 yarder. SEM was paced by quarterback Jason Line who accounted for 338 yards of total offense while scoring three times on the ground and two through the air. Arapahoe is now 2-1, SEM falls to 3-1 on the season.
ORD- The Ord Chanticleers won their homecoming game as the beat the Gothenburg Swedes 34-31. Sophmore Jesse Ulrich had 240 total yards and managed the Chanticeers to their third win of the year. Ord is the top offense in Class C1. They continued to roll with nearly 400 yards on Friday. Gothenburg led 17-13 at half after two Kaihden Brown touchdowns and a 39 yard Dominic Long field goal.
Ord retook the lead 20-17 in the third quarter on a one-yard run by Kaden Dawe. They then went up 27-17 on another Dawe score. The teams traded touchdowns befire Ord went on a 19 play 74 yard drive and retaking at 34-24 lead. Gothenburg’s Dawson Graham connected with Noah Larson on a 30 yard pass to draw the Swedes within three. Thw onside kick failed and Ord was able to run out the clock and get the win .Ord improves to 3-1 while Gothenburg falls to 2-2.
