On Tuesday night at Gering the Lady Bulldogs softball team earned 6-5 win over Alliance.
Jacey Marietta worked around four errors defensively to earn the win. The senior ace went six innings allowing five hits and four runs, none earned, while striking out eight against just one walk.
At the plate for Gering, Tori Hoagland finished 2-3 with a couple of runs scored. Kaylee Bohnsack also went 2-3 and she drove in a pair of runs.
Grace Tolstedt and Courtney Little Hoop each recorded multi-hit nights for Alliance while Jaycee Acosta had a couple RBI.
Gering improved to 13-11 with the win. Alliance had a three game winning streak snapped, they’re now 8-12.
Scottsbluff went on the road and outhit Chadron 8-6 but came up short where it mattered most, in the runs column, falling 7-6 to the Lady Cardinals.
Scottsbluff committed four errors behind Erin Willats, who took the loss. Willats went all six innings in the circle and allowed seven runs, but just two of those were earned. She struck out four while walking just one.
Devanney Halley went 3-4 in the leadoff spot for the Lady Bearcats with a run scored and one driven in. She had the teams lone extra base hit.
Willats drove in two while Taylor Klein and Jordyn Grasmick each drove in a run.
Scottsbluff is now 13-11 with the loss while Chadron improved to 10-12.
