Former Loper Named Head Coach In Lexington

Lexington high school has announced that Katie Ruwe has been hired as the new Head Coach of the Minutemaid softball program. Ruwe had an outstanding career as a softball player, which includes three state championships at Blair High School, and was a four year starter at UNK. While playing for the Lopers, she earned MIAA All Conference 3 times, and was named to the NCAA D-II All Region team 3 times. After her senior campaign, Katie earned All-American honors and still holds several hitting records at UNK. Ruwe spent last last year as an assistant coach at Lexington. Ruwe currently teaches Kindergarten at Morton Elementary school in Lexington.
