YORK – Jared Stark, Vice President of Enrollment and Athletics, has accepted the resignation of Volleyball Head Coach Erin Freeman. “It is with sadness that Erin leaves our department, but I’m glad for her family as she moves closer to family in the Kansas City area. Erin has led our program for several years now with integrity, dignity and great Christian character. Erin has been a tremendous coach for our volleyball program. She has helped prepare her team on the court, but especially off of the court. Her team members were very active on campus and very well respected; and I attribute that a lot to her leadership.”

Erin Freeman said “first of all, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the York College community and to lead the volleyball program for the last three years. We have loved getting to be a part of the girls’ lives and to invest in them as athletes and as young women. It was apparent when we came here that this is where the Lord was leading us and the same is still true now, as we leave. Thomas and I are very excited for what the future holds for us as we move on and we hope that the impact we leave is a foundation that can be built upon, and that the young women that we have built relationships with here feel equipped to go out and be a blessing and make a difference at York and beyond.”

During Freeman’s three years the team won the KCAC Team of Character award twice.

Stark stated that a national search will begin immediately, with hopes of a new head coach being named before school is dismissed in May.
