The Tigers had just enough to pull out a win over the Raiders, 75-72. Both teams struggled in field goal shooting with a combined 42-142 for 30 percent. Defense allowed the Raiders to stay close by forcing 23 Doane turnovers and outrebounding the Tigers, 52-48, but CCC head coach Mike Kroupa maintained that the shooting woes were just too much to overcome.
“We played hard and improved defensively and in rebounding, but we were unable to hit shots,” said Kroupa. “We need to improve on our ball movement and motion of our offense.”
The loss give the Raiders a 1-2 mark heading into Saturday’s road game at Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA. The Raiders and the Spartans will tipoff at 2 p.m
