Omaha, Neb. — The BIG EAST released the conference schedule for Creighton women’s basketball on Monday, Sept. 17th. The Bluejays continue the true round robin format, playing each of their BIG EAST nine opponents both at home and on the road.
For the first time since joining the league the Bluejays open conference action on the road, traveling to DePaul on December 29th for a 7:00 pm battle with the Blue Demons. Creighton continues the road trip at Marquette on December 31st, playing at 2:00 pm.
Creighton’s first BIG EAST home game will be on January 4th when the Bluejays welcome Villanova at 7:00 pm. Two days later the Bluejays battle Georgetown in the first of five nationally televised game. The contest with the Hoyas will be on CBS Sports Network at 1:00 pm.
The first set of home games begin the BIG EAST’s typical cycle of playing on Friday and Sunday. The lone exceptions will be battles with travel partner Providence, coming on Saturdays.
The annual trip to New Jersey and New York starts on Jan. 11th at Seton Hall for a kids game at 10:00 am. Two days later the Bluejays face off with the Red Storm at 1:00 pm.
Creighton returns home for a three-game stretch to wrap up the first half of league play against Xavier (Jan. 18th at 7:00 pm), Butler on Jan. 20th at 2:00 pm on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and versus Providence on Jan. 26th at 1:00 pm.
A road trip to the nation’s capital begins the second half of BIG EAST play as well as the month of February with Creighton facing Georgetown on Feb. 1st at 6:00 pm. The Bluejays continue on to face Villanova on Feb. 3rd at 1:00 pm in Pennsylvania, a game that can be seen on FS1.
Creighton closes the season with four of its final seven regular-season contests in Omaha at DJ Sokol Arena, the stretch begins on Feb. 8th against St. John’s (7:00 pm). Another scuffle with the Pirates of Seton Hall comes on Feb. 10th at 1:00 pm on Fox Sports 2 (FS2).
The final regular-season road trip takes the Bluejays to three cities over two weeks as Creighton faces Butler (Feb. 15th at 6:00 pm) in Indianapolis, Xavier on Feb. 17th at 1:00 pm in Cincinnati and finally Providence on Feb. 23rd at 3:00 pm in Rhode Island.
Creighton wraps up BIG EAST action against Marquette (March 1st at 7:00 pm) and DePaul (March 3rd at 1:00 pm on FS2) in two home contests.
The BIG EAST Tournament will be held at Wintrust Arena in Chicago for the second consecutive year and run from March 9-12.
Coming off back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament, the Bluejays return seven letter winners. Leading that group are both of the Bluejays top two scorers, senior Audrey Faber (14.8 ppg) and junior Jaylyn Agnew (14.5 ppg).
