COLUMBUS – We had high school basketball on 107.9 The Bull Tuesday night, Dec. 5, as Central Catholic traveled to Columbus Scotus for a girls and boys varsity doubleheader. In the girls games, Scotus raced to a 33-18 halftime lead, and went on to beat Central Catholic 64-39. Grace Wickham had 17 points for Scotus, while Lexis Haase led the Bluejays with 18 points. Central Catholic is now 2-1 on the young season.
In the boys game, Scotus scored at least 20 points in three of the four quarters and made 10 three pointers on their way to a 74-43 win over Central Catholic. Trevor Kaslon led four players in double digits with 19 points for the Shamrocks, including five dunks. Derek Petz scored 12 for the Bluejays, all from three point range, and Jared Minnick added 11. The Central Catholic boys are now 1-2.
