The Central Community College women’s basketball team lost to Doane University JV, 48-44, on Monday night in Crete.
The Tigers took an early lead by taking the first quarter, 17-8. The Raiders had a better showing in the second period and trailed by six at halftime, 28-22. CCC outscored Doane, 13-9, but still trailed by two heading into the fourth period. The final stanza was close and the Raiders had a chance to tie the game with 10 seconds left in regulation. However, a missed three-point shot allowed the Tigers to hang on for the four-point victory.
With the loss, CCC is now 7-13 on the season.
The Raiders are right back in action with a Tuesday night road clash with York JV. CCC defeated the Panthers back in November at Raider Fieldhouse, 87-77. Tip-off for tonight’s game is set for 6 p.m. at the Freeman Center.
