Briar Cliff Women’s Basketball Head Coach Mike Power has announced the signing of Madelyn Deitcher to his 2018-19 Charger recruiting class. Deitcher, a Treynor, Iowa native, is currently completing her senior year at Treynor High School.

Deitcher is a 14-time letterwinner for the Cardinals with four apiece in basketball and softball and three each in track and golf. She was an honorable mention all-conference selection in basketball as a freshman and then went on to be named first team all-conference as a sophomore, junior and senior. Deitcher was also named first team all-district and was an IGCA All-Region selection her final three season as well. Her junior season she helped guide the Cardinals to a Class 2A State runner up finish and she was a member of the 2A All-Tournament Team. Deitcher also helped the Cardinals reach the state tournament as a senior and was named first team all-area as a junior and senior. As a senior, Deitcher shot 62.4 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from long range and 65.5 percent from the free throw line. She nearly averaged a double-double with 17.4 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game.

On the golf course, Deitcher helped the Cardinals to state as a freshman, sophomore and junior with her golf career highlighted by a state championship as a junior and she finished seventh as an individual.

Madelyn is the daughter of John and Renae Deitchler and is looking to major in education at Briar Cliff.
