BC softball is excited to announce the signing of Chasity Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa to its 2019-20 recruiting class. Johnson is a three-time all-conference recipient and four-year varsity starter at East High School in Sioux City.
“Chasity is a fantastic young lady and will add great depth to our pitching staff,” said head coach Erin Bly. “I know she will be a fantastic fit with our program and help build our new culture here at BCU Softball. We couldn’t be more excited to have her!”
During her junior season as a Black Raider, Johnson had a 3.64 ERA with 146 strikeouts and opponents batted .263 against her. Her best game was a two-hit shutout at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln with 12 strikeouts. She has 65 total pitching victories for East over four seasons.
Johnson chose Briar Cliff because of the campus size and location.
“I chose BCU because it was the best fit for me,” said Johnson. “I loved the smaller campus size along with how amazing all the people I met on campus were. Being in town was also a huge perk while I am able to continue my athletic career and I am extremely excited about what lies ahead!”
Johnson is the daughter of Jason and Malea Johnson and sister to Kayla and Nate.
