The Briar Cliff baseball team received 34 points in the 2019 GPAC Baseball Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the ninth-most in the conference.
The Chargers were picked ahead of Dakota Wesleyan and Dordt in the poll after finishing eighth in the conference last season with an 11-15 league record. The Blue and Gold finished the 2018 season at 22-25 overall.
GPAC newcomer Jamestown is the favorite among the coaches, receiving 91 points in the poll with four first-place votes. Northwestern took the league crown last season and while the Red Raiders also secured four first-place votes, they were picked to finish behind Midland by overall poll points.
