It will be a wild Tuesday night of baseball over in Gering.

Up first it’ll be the home opener for the Western Nebraska Pioneers as they christen Oregon Trail Park Stadium.

The Pioneers come in at 0-2 after dropping their first two games of the season in Casper; the finals were 2-1 and 7-6. Their Sunday game was rained out.

Coverage tonight with Miles Klotz can be heard on KNEB AM 960, 100.3 FM, and kneb.com starting at 6:05 with first pitch scheduled for 6:35.

Also tonight in that same neighborhood it’s the areas top legion rivalry with Gering Platte Valley Companies hosting the WESTCO Zephyrs.

It’ll be a juniors/seniors doubleheader with the opening game at 5 p.m. featuring the Gering B&C Steel Juniors taking on the WESTCO Express.

The seniors game will follow.

We’ll carry the PVC/Zephyrs game on KNEB.tv, Allo 15, and Mobius 1500 with a tentative start time of 7:15 for pregame and first pitch at 7:30. We’ll be on the air 15 minutes prior to first pitch.

The Zephyrs are off to just a 2-7 start after two losses at Hastings on Saturday.
