Norfolk-The Thurston-Cuming County Baseball Team lost 12-2 in 5 innings at Norfolk Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Thunder got on the board first as Brennan Ferguson drove in Lucas Vogt with an RBI Single in the top of the 1st inning to put them up 1-0.
The Panthers tied the game in the home half of the 1st as a leadoff triple by Wil Fisher resulted in a run after Dylan Rodgers hit him in with an RBI Sac Fly.
Norfolk scored another run in the bottom of the 2nd inning to go up 2-1 as Brett O’Brien laid down a suicide squeeze bunt to bring home Colby Mrsny.
Mrsny went 1-1 with three runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base for the Panthers, who improved to 9-11 on the season with the win.
Norfolk added 3 more runs in the 3rd to go up 5-1, and tacked on four more in the 4th to go up 12-1 after four.
Thurston-Cuming County scored their final run in the top of the 5th.
Jaden Driscoll was the winning pitcher for the Panthers, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs over 5 innings of work. Chris Rutar took the loss for the Thunder, giving up 10 runs in 3 innings of work.
Thurston-Cuming County falls to 5-7 on the year and concludes the regular season on Saturday against Arlington at 11:00 a.m.
Norfolk rounds out the regular season at Fremont Bergan on Monday.
