North Bend head football coach Ryan Stieren scouts Tekamah-Herman.
High school football returns to the airwaves on 107.9 the Bull this Friday, with 1-1 Tekamah-Herman visiting 0-2 North Bend Central.
Tekamah-Herman Head Coach Graig McElmuray says hanging on to the football and slowing down North Bend’s offense will be keys to the game.
“Ball security and make them drive. They have to drive the ball in order to score. If we allow big plays to score, then it’s gonna be a rough night for us. If we can make them drive, make them go the length of the field, make them take more than three or four plays to score on us, I like our chances,” McElmuray said. “If we give up big plays and let them pass on us and let them do things of that nature, it could be ugly for us that way.”
North Bend head coach Ryan Stieren says that after scouting Tekamah-Herman, he believes the opponent uses enough players to always have fresh bodies on the field.
“I think it’s a good match up for us. One thing I’ll say is they play hard. I think they have a pretty good number of kids out, and they’ll play probably 15 or 16 kids on offense and defense. So that’s good for them because they can be fresh,” Stieren said. “From that perspective, those are some things that could give some trouble. But I think it is a good match up for us.”
