Bob Jensen has produced another Huskerland Prep Football Magazine, which includes insight into KTIC Sports Booster Schools. Jensen expects GACC to reload this year. “We expect Guardian Angels to be right back to the trough this year. A state final might be a bit much to ask, but for one thing they’ve got Dave Ridder as their coach, and Dave knows his stuff, and he’s worked that program over pretty well. I believe he’s got three state finals on his resume.”
Jensen projects the Bluejays to win another District Title and make the playoffs.
Jensen expects West Point-Beemer to have a winning season. “Yeah I tell you what I was in West Point. One of the very first trips I made during the spring was I went to West Point. I was kind of fascinated by the number of players they have coming back. Something like 9 back on offense and maybe 7 on defense. Got a senior class that’s played a lot of football. Got a proven Quarterback in Cole Hughes. I don’t know I think it’s a team they need to have a little success early. I really got the impression that they believe that this could be a good football season for them. And you know as good as I do that’s a huge first step.”
Jensen says he also likes Blake Anderson a lot, and thinks he could be in the all-state conversation by year’s end.
Jensen expects Oakland-Craig to contend for another District Title this year. “I think Oakland-Craig’s going to be just fine. I think that’s a district championship football team, but I got to tell ya…Bergan’s going to be right on their heels. And there’s a couple other local teams that got a chance to have nice seasons as well.”
Jensen projects Oakland-Craig to win 7 games in the regular season and a playoff game.
Jensen says BRLD should have a strong run game this season. “They have a lot of people back. It’s a team that’s got some size in the line. It’s a team that’s got a chance to be able to move the ball on the ground.”
Jensen projects the Wolverines to win 4 or 5 games this year.
Jensen adds Logan View has a lot of potential this year. “Logan View’s got a chance to make some things happen. Last year they were 4-5, and they were a competitive 4-5 team. They were a team that gave good teams trouble. They got a lot of people back especially on defense. And I don’t know…the thing is that Coach Sealey has coached winners. That’s what he does. And he’s another one of the young coaches in our state that really does a good job with his program.”
Jensen believes the Raiders can contend for a playoff spot.
Jensen says he expects Clarkson/Leigh to have a Clarkson/Leigh type year. “They’re going to be the kind of team that isn’t going to back down from anybody. They’re going to be a competitive team. Win somewhere in the middle…something like around 3, 4, 5…I could see that happening. I certainly would think that’s a program that’s going to make the playoffs.”
The Patriots are seeking their 6th straight playoff appearance.
Big things are expected out of Howells-Dodge this year. Jensen feels the Jaguars can have an unbeaten regular season if they get past their opener with East Butler given all the talent and experience they bring back. “Howells-Dodge wins that I don’t think they’ll lose in the regular season. I think they just take it from there….they go 8-0. That’s the way I see it. And there’s a lot of experience on this team. There’s a lot of good players at every level on the team. It isn’t like they just got a good line and no backs. It isn’t like they’ve got good linebackers but no secondary. They got good athletic strong kids at every level.
Jensen thinks Howells-Dodge will win at least a couple games in the playoffs.
