YORK, Neb. – Nearly 20 pounds of drugs, worth and estimated $500,000, are off the streets thanks to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a sheriff’s deputy stopped a rented GMC SUV for traffic violations near mile marker 354 on Interstate 80. A consented search of the vehicle turned up 14 bundles of a powdery substance later identified as methamphetamine and cocaine.

York County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Paul Vrbka, said the bust was substantial.

Sandra Warner, 25, and Sergio Rodriguez, 50, both of California, were transporting the drugs to Ohio. Both are lodged in the York County Jail awaiting charges.

It is said to be the single biggest drug seizure in York County history.
