York City Council Hears Chlorination Update, Ballfield Complex Report

YORK, Neb. – The York City Council held their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday evening, where they heard a water system chlorination update and a report from the York Ballfield Complex’s first year of operation.

City of York employee, Brandon Osentowski, stood before the council and gave an update on the chlorination of York’s Water System, which began Tuesday.

The city was forced to chlorinate four wells after having two positive Coliform tests within 12 months.

Director of York Park and Recreation, Cheree Folts, presented the council an annual report of the Park and Recreation Department, which included numbers from the York Ballfield Complex’s first year of operation.

The roughly $7.5 million complex opened in March of this year.

Other York City Council agenda items include: the approval of a Special Designated Permit for Kirk’s Korner to hold a tasting event for a fund raising effort at the Kilgore Memorial Library on February 10, 2018.

Another item saw the council adopt a resolution for an Injury Prevention Program for employees of the City of York.
