YORK, Neb. – Four counties are working on a plan to regionalize their public safety software.

York, Butler, Seward, and Saline Counties have been meeting for months to devise a plan to implement and integrate solutions from Zuercher Technologies Software. The need is present in York County, as entities have been using the same public safety software for over 15 years. The new system will include: computer-aided dispatch (CAD), records management system (RMS), jail management system (JMS), and Civil Process management system.

The total cost to implement the system in York County is just over $148,000, with 50% of that cost, $74,000, due in February. However, the Public Service Commission could cover some of the costs associated with the system. If approved by each county, implementation could take 10-12 months.

The York County Board of Commissioners will continue discussing the matter moving forward.
