Winter Weather Advisory Calls For More Snow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa from 6 AM Friday morning through 6 AM Saturday morning. That includes the West Point area. Two to four inches of snow is expected with higher amounts possible. Freezing drizzle may precede the snow with a light glaze possible this morning along and south of a line from Albion to Omaha. Winds will be gusting 20 to 30 miles per hour causing reduced visibility. Plan on slippery road conditions.

Many schools in the affected area canceled school a day ahead of time.

Further north into South Dakota and northern Iowa there’s a winter storm warning with 5 to 8 inches of snow possible.
