Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel roadways in the Panhandle and Eastern Wyoming Saturday.

As of 9 a.m., few accidents have been reported in the area according to Scotts Bluff County Communications and the Nebraska State Patrol, with those that have occurred being primarily property damage.

Roadways in the western half of the Panhandle are reported covered with snow, slush, and ice. Impacted roads include Highway 71 from Kimball to Crawford, US Highway 20 in Sioux and Dawes counties, and Highway 26 from the Wyoming line to near Bayard, as well as US 385 north from Alliance.

In Wyoming, Interstate 80 is reported closed between Laramie and Rawlins in both directions, while eastbound traffic has been stopped near Rock Springs. As of the most recent report, authorities were recommending no unnecessary travel on I-25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland.
